(I know you’re probably wondering who I am, and I’m certainly glad you’re inquisitive! Hence the name, I am not a licensed doctor by any means, but due to my extensive research and dedication on helping women stop BV from occurring, many began to refer to me as the “Dedical Moctor.” I liked the sound of the name, so it has become my mark.)
I began my research journey on Bacterial Vaginosis when I was first diagnosed with it at age 17 but had been suffering from strong vaginal odor for about 2 years prior. No matter what I tried to search for, all roads led to a dead end and nothing to end bacterial vaginosis for me. I began avoiding social situations for fear of my strong vaginal odor problem being “exposed”, and it really put a damper on my self-esteem. I kept telling my mother that something wasn’t right with my vagina, but she figured I was just over-reacting as I am and have always been very health-conscious of my body. I finally convinced her to take me to the family OB/GYN for my first time visit.
I felt a small sense of relief after being diagnosed with a yeast infection, told something about my vaginal “pH” being “off balance” due to my “genetic makeup” and was prescribed a topical cream. Now I’m no doctor, but I knew that what was going on in my body was not a “topical” problem; I needed something to cure my strong vaginal odor and regulate my vaginal pH internally, but I trusted my doctor and took the medicine as advised with high hopes that it would put an end to bacterial vaginosis suffering for me; needless to say, it didn’t work. Within a couple of months, my strong vaginal odor came back along with an elevated vaginal pH, but I brushed it off as normal, since I truly had faith that I’d been prescribed the “cure to stop bv”.
When I had my 3rd annual pap smear, the doctor informed me that I indeed had Bacterial Vaginosis again, and I was then prescribed a metronidazole pill to be taken 3 times a day for 7 days. After about the third day, I noticed a drastic change in my once strong vaginal odor, a socially hindering symptom, so I immediately had faith that this was the ultimate cure to end bacterial vaginosis.
About a year later, I was re-visited with strong vaginal odor, that was becoming a nuisance for me. It was around this same time that I was diagnosed as being lactose intolerant. I continued to do more research on women’s bodies and what could be underlying causes of this horrible visitation of strong vaginal odor, time and time again, and what I ended up finding out changed my life (and will change yours) putting an end to bacterial vaginosis.
In turn, I began helping people with simple lifestyle changes that will be sure to end Bacterial Vaginosis; therefore, I decided to create this site as a dedication to all women who experience inhibition and apprehensions due to this silent but “stubborn” vaginal infection and are looking for cures, not temporary fixes to mask the underlying causes of strong vaginal odor and fluctuating vaginal pH levels.
