Did I Get BV from my Partner?
nYa asked:
I recently went to the doc and he prescribed me Cleocin cream to be used for 7 days for BV. Is it possible that I could I have contracted this from my partner? Is BV a STD, and has anyone used Cleocin? Thanks for your help.

bacterial vaginosis
No its a bacterial infection, its not an STD. Think about bacterial in the nature of where it usually is. If you wiped the wrong way and got the doo doo in the yah whoo maybe thats what did it. There are other ways. I’m not sure about getting it from your partner though. I had to use something like that a 1 day treatment however when I had a bacterial infection.
what is bacterial vaginosis
BV is an inbalance of bacteria in the vagina, its not a sexual disease and men dont suffer from it….its contracted from using to much soap or shower gel and creams, and especially if u douch down below (putting soap inside ur vagina), dont use femme wash and use a mild soap, ur vagina has its own bacteria that help to keep it clean so dont use to much high perfumed products down there or u will constantly suffer from it.

I have also had bacterial vaginosis but as this website states it is not yet understood what causes it.

I think you can definitely develop the overgrowth of unhealthy bacteria due to practices with your partner. I was on a 7 day treatment, then went out of town for vacation. I was away from my bf for a couple of weeks and was fine, but it seemed as soon as we got together again, I began having the BV symptoms once more. I haven’t been with my bf for a couple of months now (we broke up), and even though I was told by my doc that BV isn’t an std, in my case it might as well be. I have used cleo, but I find also that homeopathic remedies help. Everyday I take folic acid – 2 pills a day with low-fat cottage cheese or yogurt. I changed all my soaps, stopped wearing thongs and only wear cotton panties. I know it is a major inconvenience in your life, as well as any woman’s. Do a lot of research on natural remedies. Use the natural remedies as much as you can because antibiotics are not good with constant use. Have your bf get checked out just as a precaution. Good luck!
vaginal odor
This is a fairly common bacterial overgrowth for women, and you can get it from a number of things including the above stated reasons; however, you can also develop this condition from your male partner if he doesn’t practice sexual cleanliness such as not washing his hands before or after sexual encounters or ‘alternative’ types of sexual activities.
